One Woman's life long battle with dieting, bingeing, and the pursuit of the perfect fit.
The Show
In this one-woman production, Cathy Wilke explores her love/hate relationship with food and her personal struggles with weight and dieting through the use of songs, dance and a game show entitled "Big Fat Loser." Her clever use of the clothing she can no longer wear but is unable to part with will liberate anyone who is tyrannized by the contents of their closet.
Crafted from numerous monologues that she wrote about her struggle, Cathy tells the brutal truth of what it is to be a obsessed with food and your body and what happens when those obsessions take over. The show strikes a chord about appetites and hunger that resonates in everyone.
On the other side of Miss Wilke’s food and body issues is her shopping addiction which alternates with the cycle of diet-binge-regret that runs her life. She has the audience roaring during her explanation of the principles of “princess math” which is the method she uses to fund her shopping binges.
If you’ve ever had your day ruined because your jeans were too tight, this show is for you.
